Introduction

This full-time position will lead our initiatives and programs to reach and disciple children and their parents through a multi-generational team approach. We have vibrant Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs with a solid presence and reputation in our community. Responsibilities
- Leadership and oversight of Kids Ministries (birth – 5th grade): both hands-on and administratively
- Effectively create & communicate a vision for Kid’s ministries that is aligned with the overall church
- Create and cultivate a clear discipleship pathway for kids and their parents in collaboration with our Staff, with resources and support to equip parents in the spiritual development of their children, including spiritual milestones like dedication and baptism
- Create opportunities for the enrichment of parents as the spiritual leaders of their homes through serving events, parenting classes, seminars, and connections at spiritual milestones Be an advocate for Kid’s Ministries and educate the congregation about the hopes, concerns, and needs of children in the local church and community, building a multi-generational team approach
- Think creatively, collaborate, and strategize to Reach kids and their families with our Staff Team
- Oversee curriculum development
- Ensure that materials and supplies are stocked throughout the classrooms/spaces
- Recruiting, training, inspiring and scheduling a multi-generational volunteer team to serve throughout Kids Ministries
- Event planning both within Kids Ministries and with Staff for church wide events
- Oversee and manage your ministry budget
- Maintain a system of regular communication with parents and volunteers
- Ensure that appropriate safety and security procedures are followed throughout Kid’s Ministries
- Ensure that the rooms, equipment, and spaces are maintained and in safe working order using professionals and volunteers
- Maintain an intentional plan for professional growth and personal health – no burning out!

- Detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, adaptable
- Has a passion for kids and families, to see them come to faith and mature in Christ
- Agrees wholeheartedly with and will teach in accordance with the North American Baptist Statements of Faith (www.nabconference.org – “About Us” tab / Our beliefs)
- Has experience with children at various ages and is able to connect with them
- Has ministry references
- Passes a full background check
Schedule
- Oversee Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming of Kid’s Ministries
- 1 or 2 evenings per week are possible for meetings/events; office hours are flexible to accommodate
- We currently have one worship service – attend Sunday worship on a regular basis because of a healthy volunteer team
