Job Description:

SEND International is a global missions organization committed to planting churches among unreached people groups worldwide. We are looking for an energetic Development Manager to lead our fundraising efforts. This role focuses on refining and effectively communicating SEND’s mission to a growing audience, driving resource growth to support our initiatives. Responsibilities include: donor communications, fundraising events, data systems, grant applications, and general operations related to the development office.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development Operations Management

  • Partner with the CEO to design and execute a fundraising plan, including annual giving strategies.
  • Coordinate major donor calls and appointments for the CEO.
  • Identify and build relationships with prospective donors.
  • Serve as the primary Farmington Hills office contact for applications, appeals, and campaigns.
  • Manage and oversee development team.
  • Oversee and update giving policies and procedures as needed.
  • Manage support requests for Missionary Project fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and development team on fundraising initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events.

 Communications and Marketing

  • Develop and implement a donor communications strategy highlighting SEND’s impact.
  • Work with the Marketing Director and team to optimize the giving landing page and website.
  • Collaborate on storytelling initiatives to showcase SEND’s work.
  • Lead planning and execution of annual fundraising appeals through the US Office.

Data Management

  • Manage SEND’s constituent database.
  • Leverage data to guide decisions and assess fundraising and marketing effectiveness.
  • Provide accurate, timely fundraising reports to the CEO and Board.
  • Oversee and review the Development Department budget.

 Grants and foundations management

  • Research prospective foundations aligned with SEND’s mission.
  • Support grant application and reporting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive experience in nonprofit development, marketing, and/or communications.
  • Proven fundraising success.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; resourceful and deadline-driven.
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with expertise in:
    • Writing and communication
    • Time and project management
    • Follow-through and reliability
