Next Generation Pastor

                                            First Baptist Church of Clarkson, Michigan

CORE RESPONSIBLITIES

*  To be accountable directly to the Senior Pastor and working in close contact with the pastor

     to carry out the duties listed and expectations youth philosophy of the Senior Pastor and

     of FBC.

*  To teach, guide and direct youth from elementary age through high school in God’s Word,

    always encouraging them to know, love and serve Christ.

*  To oversee all activities and programs of children and youth at FBCC

*  To recruit and support parents and others in the work of the respective children and youth

    ministries for ongoing volunteer ministry in the children’s ministry (Sunday School, AWANA,

     Summer Bible Adventure for kids [VBS], Year-round youth programs)

*  To work with the pastor in discipleship resource and curriculum choices for all children’s and

    youth ministry at FBCC.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

 *  To reach out to unchurched children youth, and families in the community, engage them

      with the gospel and involve them in the work of the church

 *  To participate in general pastor duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, calling,

      etc.)

 *  To participate in all staff and deacons’ meetings

 *  To help develop a budget for children’s and youth ministries

 *  To be ready to participate in all of the activities of FBCC (All services, conferences and

      events)

 *  To attend any staff meetings or required conferences (weekly or otherwise)

REQUIREMENTS

Personal

   *  Godly Integrity:  Demonstrates a clear testimony of salvation; a good testimony with others               

   *  Growing:  A teachable listener and learner

   *  Self-Motivated:  Able to meet expectations without constant oversight.

   *  Relational:  Seeks to consistently walk with God and is personally committed to spiritual

       Disciplines in his own life.

   *  Relational: Demonstrates skill in connecting with people, especially, parents, children and

       youth

   *  Loyal Team Member:  Able to get along and support our pastor/church staff and support

                                         the ministries of others.  

   *  Patient: Able to consistently pursue long-term ministry vision  while striving for excellence

Pastoral

    *  Bachelor’s Degree or greater.  Preferably in Bible or church ministries

    *  Experience in local church children’s and Youth ministries

    *  Previous local church ministry experience in the area of children, youth and families

    *  Full agreement with the doctrinal, policies and mission statements of FBCC

    *  Exhibits shepherding and leadership skills – conflict resolution, keeping confidences,

        decision-making, counseling   

    *  Ability to communicate privately to others and has preaching and teaching aptness

    *  Ability to skillfully preach and teach in areas of children, youth and adult ministries
