Youth Outreach Specialist - Female

POSITION TITLE:                 Associate Director of Female Programs 

REPORTS TO:                       Chief of Staff

POSITION PURPOSE:        Assist with development, supervision, and promotion all after school
and outreach programming for youth with a focus on females. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Builds relationships with youth as a conduit of care and trust.
• Provides specific ministry programs to the high girls that come to The House. Creates, develops, implements and facilitates activities for female students.
• Facilitates conflict resolution among youth in our afterschool ministry by employing empathy, active listening, and problem-solving skills to foster an environment of understanding, respect, and growth. Oversee disciplinary issues with the youth and enforce conduct guidelines.
• Is capable, comfortable and spiritually competent in sharing the gospel of Christ to all House students, in a group setting or individually. Assist with development and implementation of spiritual programming such as “Life Sessions.”
• Assists with special programming for events such as retreats and outings
• Assists with planning and providing programming at Anacostia Senior High School during lunch with a focused agenda.
• Coordinates with other outreach staff to plan and execute the entire PROPS system (point incentive system at The House that encouarges productivity and participation from students); participates in rotation of staff on regular prop outings for top House students.
• Assists with non-program related duties such as shopping for food to feed students at The House for two weeks.
• Attends and actively engages in all necessary staff, department and 1:1 meetings with chief of staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Provide additional support to The House staff as needed.
