Family Pastor $80k-$120k

Position Summary – The Family Pastor will lead the LegacyKids Ministry to accomplish the vision by pastoring families with children ages Infant to Grade 6 to Love God, Love People, & Serve our World. This role would work closely with the Lead Pastors in discipling the young families of the church.  

Primary Objectives

1. Team Builder – Equip others to accomplish the work God has entrusted to us. We have new families coming each and every week, so we are consistently looking to expand our team. The Family Pastor will be able to recruit and train leaders and build teams to “do the work of the ministry.”
2. Vision Caster - Partner with families to disciple their children in Christ. The best way for kids to learn to love Jesus is to involve their parents. Your responsibility would be to set the tone in creating irresistible environments kids love to come back to, and support parents with resources and coaching to have success modeling a life that experiences Jesus every day.
3. Outreach Catalyst – We host several strategic events each year to reach out to our community. Since families are one of our primary ministry targets, you will play a lead role in mobilizing teams to reach out to our community.  In this role you will lead, design, plan, and implement events to introduce unchurched families to Jesus and Legacy Chapel.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of Children’s Ministry – Baby Chapel: Infant to 23 months, Junior Chapel: 24 to Pre-K, Kids Chapel: Kindergarten to 3th grade, Hang Time 4^th to 6^th
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings, monthly leadership meetings, and retreats as requested.
• Oversee and ensure that appropriate safety and security procedures are in place and being followed as well as create new policies as the need arises.
• Recruit, equip, train, and schedule all LegacyKids volunteers for worship services and Events.
• Establish and Lead a team of skilled volunteer leaders and teachers to oversee classrooms and provide support in advancing the vision of the ministry
• Plan and execute all elements and activities of the weekly LegacyKids ministry including a discipleship track and resources for kids and their parents to be fully devoted followers of Jesus
• Lead the planning and execution of outreach events for kids and families (Examples: Eggstravaganza, Vacation Bible School, Pumpkinpalooza, etc.)

• Organize and execute an overnight “Summer Camp” for elementary age kids
• Organize and execute a Christmas Kids Choir for the Christmas Eve Services
• Personify and manage a warm welcome for parents and kids during the check-in experience.
• Provide timely and superb follow-up for all visiting families and their children.
• Oversee appropriate and intentional pastoral care of all LegacyKids families.
• Oversee all communication involving LegacyKids: Weekly Bulletin, Bulletin Boards, Website, Facebook, Legacy App, Email updates, etc.

Qualifications

• Born again and spirit filled required. Doctrine must include both grace and faith for salvation and the infilling of the Holy Spirit is available for all believers.  
• +5 years experience in Children’s Ministry leadership role required. This includes multiple years of successful track record in leading teams of volunteers and/or paid teachers along with leading family focused outreach events and camps or VBS.
• +5 years experience as a large group bible teacher to elementary aged children required.
• Must be a people person – you like people and people like to be around you is required. An extroverted personality who is process and goal oriented as well as spiritually, socially, and emotionally mature.  
• Marketplace professional experience or business ownerships highly desired.  
• 4-year college degree preferred
• Married Couple with kids is highly desired as this position will be pastoring families with kids.
• Must be humble and teachable while possessing confidence and charisma that attracts others to you.

Compensation Range: $80,000 to $120,000 | Full time | salary | minimum 40 hours per week

• Actual salary will be within this range and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The ideal candidate will be a born again, Spirit-filled believer with a mature knowledge and application of God's Word that young parents and kids can understand.  We are looking for an individual passionate about organizing and executing children’s ministry with fresh ideas and innovative programs that captivate and disciple students and their parents. These ideas transcend conventional children's ministry, touching the lives of families and children by equipping them to know and experience Jesus in life-changing ways.  This person will have elementary age, large group bible teaching experience and understand how to be innovative and resourceful to create a life changing family ministry. This person must have passion to see children and their parents become fully devoted and Spirit empowered followers of Jesus Christ. 

We are looking for a unique yet specific personality for this position. Picture a person with the most outgoing personality you know mixed with your favorite elementary teacher and favorite youth sports coach.  We desire for this person and their marriage to be a magnet for others so you can point them to Jesus.  Ideally their personality is entertaining, engaging, and fun to be around.  In the DISC Assessment, they would be a high “I” likely mixed with a high “D”.  This person has proven leadership skills to mobilize, encourage, and inspire children, parents, and volunteers.  We are centering this role’s focus on making disciples who make disciples.
