Title: Children’s Ministry Lead - Greenwich 

Reports to:  Next Gen Pastor

Works Closely With: Trinity Kids Team, Greenwich Team, Greenwich Youth Pastor

Status:  Full Time, Sunday-Thursday

FLSA: Exempt

General Role Description

The candidate filling this role will be an important part of the Trinity Kids team, Trinity Church’s name for their Children’s Ministry program. They will be an integral part of Trinity Church’s mission to reach our community with the love of Jesus. She or he will lead the children's ministry program at the Greenwich location and collaborate with the other Trinity Kids staff members. They will provide programming and relational ministry to Trinity Church’s kids and families.


Responsibilities:

Sunday Programming

  1. Build a culture and environment where children can grow in their faith, encounter the Holy Spirit, connect with each other and serve their world
  2. Provide a warm, friendly and exciting environment for children and families for Sunday programs
  3. Develop and execute all elements of Sunday morning children's ministry programming at our Greenwich location, marked by excellence, growth, and impact
  4. Recruit and coordinate children's ministry volunteers to meet Greenwich program needs
  5. Lead in a children's ministry room on Sunday mornings alongside our volunteer and caregiver staff
  6. Use appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of Trinity’s children in the classroom in regards to program development, structure, activities and discipline issues
  7. Work in conjunction with the Next Gen Pastor and the Trinity Kids Team to craft a curriculum calendar for Sunday programs
  8. Collaborate with Greenwich location team on relevant strategy and programming


Midweek Programming/Special Events

  1. Work in conjunction with the Next Gen Pastor and Trinity Kids Team to craft a strategy for midweek programing
  2. Develop and execute a midweek program for Greenwich elementary children that will supplement and build upon the culture and environment built on Sunday mornings
  3. Design programming with the Trinity Kids team that has a balance of fun and age appropriate biblical content and Holy Spirit experiences that encourage children to think about their faith
  4. Recruit and coordinate children's ministry volunteers to meet midweek program and special event needs
  5. Work in conjunction with the Trinity Kids team on planning and executing a yearly fall retreat and a 3-5 day summer program
  6. Work in conjunction with the Trinity Kids team on planning special family events (typically 2x a year)


Connection with Children's Ministry Families

  1. Interact and meet with parents, volunteers, and kids to build relationships and rapport
  2. Communicate with parents and leaders through the most effective communication channels (email, text, social media, handouts, etc.)


Requirements

  1. A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to serve His church
  2. Must support and endorse the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of Trinity Church
  3. Function as a collaborative team member of a larger multi-site children's ministry team.  
  4. Energetic, warm and able to share the love of Jesus to children and their families
  5. Must be able to relate well with congregation, staff, volunteer teams, vendors, and members of the wider community
  6. Able to contextualize Bible stories and Biblical concepts for kids of various ages


Experience and Skills

  1. Strong teamwork skills; ability to work cooperatively and jointly with various staff ministries, volunteers, and other organizations
  2. Prior experience working with kids (in a church context is a plus)
  3. Strong relational skills, specifically with children
  4. Proven ability to effectively manage time and to prioritize workload to meet deadlines 
  5. Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative 
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/ Google Apps, OR a willingness/ability to learn these programs. Experience with Planning Center Online a plus.
