Position at CRISTA Media

CRISTA Ministries. "Where faith meets vocation."

GENERAL SUMMARY: Major market KCMS/KCIS Air Talent must have a track record of ratings success, preferably in large or major markets, that demonstrates an ability to communicate with the audience in the targeted demographic. Air Talent must be personable on the air and in person at broadcast functions. This position is responsible for a general knowledge of the following equipment to be used: microphones, broadcast boards, telephone recording systems, commercial voicing software and audio delivery systems. Air Talent must be able to employ the directives of the Program Director in order to achieve the station’s overall ratings goals. This position must comply with FCC broadcast rules and operations policy set by station management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Competencies; May not include all duties of this job) 

1. Air Talent’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Personality bits
  • Liners
  • Song ramps
  • Weather
  • Tracking weekend shows
  • Interviews

2. Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Christian Commitment:

  • Must be a Christian with an ability to demonstrate how Christ has changed their life and demonstrate a willingness to convey on the air, how to accept Jesus as a personal savior. Individual must have denominational knowledge and respect for other denominations so as to convey an inclusive presentation on air, and in person. Should have or currently be participating in a church in some capacity.


2. Experience:

  • 5 years large/medium market experience (any format) with proven and consistent ratings success.


3. Other Considerations: 

  • Air Talent needs to be dependable and punctual with regard to work attendance.
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of written and oral communication skills.

4. Software and Equipment Used:

  • Proficient with Dad Pro/Enco or similar audio delivery, Adobe Edition audio software, Vox Pro telephone hardware/software and Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Explorer, Outlook, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.

2. Experience:

  • 3 years major market (markets 1-25) experience (any format), with proven and consistent ratings success. Commercial Christian radio experience desired, non-commercial Christian radio experience acceptable.

CRISTA Ministries Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
