Position at CRISTA Senior Living

 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: The CRISTA Shores Wellness Programs Manager is responsible for leadership of the Wellness Department at CRISTA Senior Living’s Silverdale campus. Implement the mission of bringing joy and purpose to the lives of seniors through wellness programming in a manner consistent with CRISTA values and applicable regulatory requirements. Develop and implement an overall wellness strategy for CRISTA Shores that enhances physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and occupational well-being of CRISTA Shores’ residents while fostering consistency and cooperation within CRISTA Shores and with other areas of Senior Living and CRISTA Ministries. Serve as a role model of professionalism, expertise, Christian faith and service and participate as part of the CRISTA Shores leadership team.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Competencies; May not include all duties of this job

1. Develop the following for the Wellness department:

  • Appropriate materials to inform and educate residents about wellness programs and build lines of communication with residents to incorporate their feedback into programs.
  • Systems for tracking and reporting on resident participation and benefits from wellness programs.
  • Policies and procedures to ensure safe, legal and effective operation of all wellness programs.
  • Annual budgets in cooperation with the Executive Director and manage the department within agreed upon budget parameters.

2. Oversee the following programs:

  • Activity programming for residential apartment residents, including supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Chaplaincy programs at CRISTA Shores, including supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Clinic operations, including supervision of staff and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Fitness programs, including supervision of staff and volunteers and development and maintenance of safe and effective fitness facilities.

3. Coordinate residential wellness programs with Assisted Living social services staff to ensure continuity of programs between residents and Assisted Living areas.

4. Build relationships with individuals and organizations in the surrounding community who can partner with CRISTA Shores in our wellness programs.

5. Participate on CRISTA Shores’ management team.

6. Manage transportation programs, including supervision of staff, maintenance of vehicles, setting schedules and establishing policy.

7. Act as liaison to the Resident Council Activities Committee, Health Committee, and other relevant resident groups.

8. Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, staff, residents and customers.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide direct leadership and mentorship to Clinic Nurses, Chaplain, Residential Activities Assistant and Transportation Drivers.

2. Provide matrix leadership to staff in all CRISTA Shores’ departments in areas related to wellness programming.

3. Monitor and coach direct reports on budget and staff management in compliance with regulatory requirements and set accountability to meet outcomes.

4. Ensure appropriate training and credentialing of staff.

5. Establish a work environment that fosters respect and positive communication between management and all staff.

6. Ensure performance is evaluated on a consistent basis for all staff.

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

(Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

1. Christian Commitment: A deep and abiding faith that is fully surrendered to the will of Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that is consistent with biblical principles in word and deed. Commitment to spiritual growth and development. Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.

2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Recreation Therapy, Nursing, Sociology, or Psychology from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted in a field related to wellness programming for education on a year-for-year basis.

3. Experience:

  • Two years in a role related to wellness programming.
  • Administrative and budget management skills in a leadership position.
  • Developing programs and implementing improvements to meet diverse constituent needs.

5. Other Considerations:

  • Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and participate as a part of the Crista Shores team.
  • Flexibility in dealing with different types of people – residents, family members, prospective residents, staff, visitors, etc.
  • Empathy with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset and hostile people.
  • Able to meet the physical and emotional stresses of the job.
  • Ministry involvement in local church and/or para-church organizations.
  • Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, staff, residents and customers.

6. Software and Equipment Used: Proficient in Microsoft Office

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience

1. Education: Masters’ degree in business or geriatric field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.

2. Experience: CRISTA Management experience.

3. Licensure/Certification:

  • Certification as a personal trainer or other fitness role.
  • Biblical or theological training.
  • Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Any certification related to aging services or long term care.

4. Software and Equipment Used: Client services software, marketing/admissions software.

5. Other Considerations: Active membership in professional organizations. Active membership in a local church.
