About the Area and Grace Church:

Grace Church is a growing non-denominational church with two campuses but expanding to more campuses soon.  Southern Pines/Pinehurst is a smaller but vibrant community with three separate, trendy downtown areas full of coffee shops, restaurants, art shops and boutiques that connect together to give a larger community feel.  Known for its world-famous golf courses, the area also has thriving arts, tennis, and equestrian communities.

Children’s Director/Pastor Snapshot:

This person will be the leader and strategist for our growing children’s ministry on multiple campuses of different sizes. Being able to appropriately lead and scale a children’s ministry department from campus to campus is vital.  Also essential is the ability to recruit and direct a team of individuals committed to helping kids grow in their relationship with Jesus by cultivating exciting, fun, caring and engaging environments where God’s Word changes their lives. The purpose is to train up children to be a part of Grace Church’s vision to Fill the City with Jesus. He or she will set goals to determine how to best support the vision of the church and future growth. This person will create an exciting environment that attracts children, families and leaders.

POSITION CLASSIFCATION: Ministry Director

TIME COMMITMENT: 40 hours plus

SCHEDULE: Monday- Thursday and weekend services at Southern Pines

 

What the Grace Kids Director gets to do:

Enthusiastically help children come to know Jesus

Oversee DNA of children’s ministry on all campuses

Oversee all aspects of Grace Kids including; recruiting, training, scheduling, screening, and supporting staff and volunteers

Lead the framework of department communication internally (staff, leaders, parents, and children) and externally

Oversee paid staff:  Grace Kids Administrative Assistant, Early Learning Coach, Preschool Coach, Elementary Coach and multisite children’s ministry coaches

Oversee and disciple the Grace Kids Wednesday Team to develop, encourage and assess needs in the ministry

Ensure that communication to volunteers and parents is occurring regularly and effectively through written, verbal and multi-media

Oversee utilization of church management software GraceLink (Church Community Builder) check-in, forms, and data entry for children’s ministry on all campuses

Have frequent up-front interaction with children and parents involved in the ministry (through teaching, leading, etc…)

Organize, oversee, and train others to lead classes such as water baptism and parenting classes

Organize, oversee, and train coaches to teach leaders

Oversee the evaluation and selection of curriculum

Oversee children’s ministry events such as VBS, Serve the City, Parade and more

 

Skills/Experience:

Experience using CCB (Church Community Builder) is a plus but not required

Social media management is a plus

Graphic design is a plus

Bachelor’s degree preferred (ministry training is a plus)

5 year’s experience in children’s ministry preferred

High energy with gifted communication and organizational skills

Servant heart and willingness to get the job done well and on-time

Team player with other departments

Skill leading level 5 leaders

Ability to visualize and implement the vision

Submit to authority and learn the DNA of the church

All Grace Church staff members must complete Connect Step and be a member of Grace Church.  They must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, living a godly lifestyle that reflects the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 5-7) and produces the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). They must be devoted to the basic disciplines of the faith – Worship, Prayer, and Tithing. 

Professional appearance is necessary as this position interacts with the public regularly
