Pastor/Director of Children, Youth and Families (Full Time)

Ridgewood Baptist Church

Brookfield, WI

 

Provide staff level servant leadership to our Children and Youth ministry, seeking to ensure that our children and students are becoming followers of Jesus Christ, creating an environment where children want to be weekly while, ministering with their parents and building and equipping our volunteer staff. 

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates a strong, vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ seeking to become more Christ--like daily.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to relate to children, students, parents, staff and congregation.
  • Demonstrates a passion for God’s Word and the Gospel.
  • Demonstrates a vision and passion for children (preschool through 5th grade), and students (Middle and High School) and parents.
  • Strong ability to teach the Bible to children and students, while evangelizing and discipling them.
  • Strong ability to lead, communicate, plan, organize and delegate effectively.
  • Ability to develop and work within ministry teams.
  • Endorse and support the Ridgewood Constitution and Statement of Faith.
  • Endorse the mission, vision, values and strategies of Ridgewood; bringing this into children and youth ministry.
  • Endorse the Senior Pastor and the Council.

 

Ministry Environments/Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Youth Ministry (students Grade 6 through 12)
  • Plan, organize, lead and teach weekly youth meetings (Sunday Evenings).
  • Plan, organize, and lead youth outreaches (once a month).
  • Plan, organize and lead youth mission trip (every other year).
  • Build spiritual formational relationships with each student, seeking to evangelize those who don’t know Christ and disciple those who do know Christ.
  • Set an annual calendar with the church’s calendar.
  • Administrate the youth ministry, including finance and budget.
  • Provide parental meetings and parents with a schedule of activities in advance.
  • Provide opportunities for students to serve within the church and outside the church.
  • Recruit and equip lay leaders for youth ministry.
  • Conduct safety and background checks for workers, seeking to provide a safe place for Youth.

 

 

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Children’s Ministry (Nursery, Preschool through Grade 5).
  • Plan, organize, and lead our Sunday morning children’s ministry (HisKidz).
  • Recruit, equip and evaluate a team of volunteer teachers and helpers.
  • Schedule teachers and workers for their various responsibilities.
  • Teach on Sunday’s regularly.  
  • Provide curriculum materials, equipment and other supplies needed for the ministry. We use discilr.com for access to curriculum.
  • Lead meetings with volunteer staff, parents to increase communication and address any concerns.
  • Plan, recruit and lead one group monthly activity for children and their parents (Sensational Saturdays).
  • Work with the Nursery Coordinator.
  • Set an annual calendar with the church’s calendar.
  • Administrate the children’s ministry, including finance and budget.
  • Maintain healthy discipline within the classroom and other activities.
  • Build relationships with the parents, for ongoing ministry.
  • Conduct safety and background checks for volunteers and keep our Children’s/Youth safety policy current.

 

Other Pastoral Opportunities

  • Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor, in staff meetings and one-on-one meetings.
  • Assist the Senior Pastor with implementing the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategies of the church.
  • Opportunities to preach based upon giftedness.
  • Lead the major outreaches of the Church and implement creative avenues for new points of entry into our neighborhood and community. 
  • Report to the Council twice (budget proposal & update).

  • Senior Pastor
  • Church Council (leadership board)
  • Congregation

 

Annual Reviews are conducted.

Pay is based upon education and experience.
