Executive Director Job Description

Organization Overview: 

Reclamation Staffing is a non-profit organization committed to assisting individuals with a history of incarceration in finding gainful employment and reintegrating into society. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support services and employment opportunities to empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Position Overview: 

The Executive Director serves as the key management leader of Reclamation Staffing, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's administration, programs, and strategic planning. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission and ensuring its sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Mission Alignment and Board Governance:

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure alignment with the organization's mission and strategic direction.
  • Provide leadership and support in the development and implementation of policies, programs, and initiatives that further the organization's mission.
  • Communicate effectively with the Board, providing timely and accurate information to facilitate informed decision-making.

Financial Management and Viability:

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
  • Prepare and present annual budgets, financial statements, and reports to the Board.
  • Oversee fiscal management, including revenue generation, budgeting, and resource allocation, to maintain positive financial performance.

Program Development and Strategic Planning:

  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of programs and initiatives that support the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct regular strategic planning exercises to assess organizational needs, identify opportunities for growth, and ensure long-term success and impact.
  • Foster collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and reach.

Operational Leadership and Management:

  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, volunteers, and contractors, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including human resources, administration, and program delivery, to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the organization.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for Reclamation Staffing, representing the organization to external stakeholders, donors, and the broader community.

Relationship Building and Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, community partners, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations, to advance the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Lead marketing, outreach, and communication efforts to raise awareness of Reclamation Staffing's programs and impact, and to engage stakeholders and supporters.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and collaborate with organizational staff to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Lead the planning and execution of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and goals.
  • Establish and maintain employment and administrative policies and procedures to support organizational effectiveness and compliance.
  • Review and approve contracts for services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Attend and facilitate organization board and committee meetings, providing leadership and support to board members and committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors to support the organization's mission and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in non-profit management, including strategic planning, financial management, and program development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including board members, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values, with a passion for Christ’s teachings and community improvement.
